Name the problem before choosing a campaign
Write down what changed, which report shows it, and the dates involved. If the report is missing or the event is not recorded, mark it unknown. A missing purchase event does not establish that nobody bought.
| What you observe | A useful next check | Where creator work might fit |
|---|---|---|
| Few relevant visits | Inspect traffic sources and the product page people reach. Check whether the intended audience is seeing the offer. | A sponsored creator post can be a distribution test when the audience and destination fit. |
| Content gets views but few visits | Check the link, the next step shown in the content, and whether the destination matches it. | Test a clearer product demonstration and an accurate invitation to visit. |
| People visit but few purchase | Check product availability, the buying path and where recorded activity stops. | Content may answer a product question. It cannot repair an unavailable item or a broken checkout. |
| You need a new creative angle | Choose one question the current content does not answer and define how you will compare the test. | Create a specific demonstration or explanation, with the distribution agreed before filming. |
Make the destination usable first
Open the exact link on a phone. Can someone find the item shown, understand what they are buying and complete the intended action? If the page or form is broken, resolve that before directing more people to it. If you have not checked it, keep its status unknown rather than assuming it is ready.
Keep the measurements separate
A video view, a website session and a purchase describe different events. Shopify's behavior reports separate sessions, cart additions, checkout activity and completed checkout. Google Analytics defines sessions as groups of interactions. Use the definitions from your own report, and compare like with like. These records help locate a question; they do not explain a person's reason for leaving.
Worked example: the product is getting attention
This is an illustrative example, not an OVO client result. A bottle brand sees video views but has not checked website visits. Its product link also opens a collection page where the featured bottle is difficult to find. The next step is to check the link and establish which visits are recorded. A new creator video may later test whether a clear demonstration answers a shopper question. The current evidence does not establish that the old video, the audience or the product caused the weak sales.
Turn a content question into a brief
If the buying path works and the open question is about the product, define what a viewer needs to see. Choose creator publication, assets for your own channels, or both. Bring that question, the product, the intended audience and the timing when discussing a campaign with OVO. Keep the measurement or site repair as a separate task if it is still unresolved.
Frequently asked questions
Can this check tell me why sales are low?
It can organize what you know and suggest a next check. It does not inspect your accounts, verify your answers or establish a cause.
Should I make more content if I have little traffic?
First check how people are supposed to find the product and where they will land. Content production and distribution are separate decisions. A usable asset does not guarantee that the intended audience sees it.
What if I do not have reliable measurement?
Mark the result unknown and check which events your reports record. Keep genuine sales or inquiry records separate from missing analytics. Do not enter zero as a substitute for unavailable data.
